This One declared, "You adjust every Blasted thing! You DO! Abbreviate every damned process! It's like a CURSE on you! A wicked destructive habit you practice as if you have no Soul!"
Agreeably, That One replied, "Maybe I'm driven, or something. But it's how I get to my essentials. . ." He paused to reach for his companion's cup, ". . . here, let me warm up your cocoa."
"There you go again," complained This One. "Distraction by making me comfortable! Messing up my train of thought. Moving me off my ZONE."
"No, it's not like that," mollified That One, as he placed the cup of cocoa in the microwave. "How hot you want it?" he asked.
"Sixty seconds should do," said This One, then as That One punched in numbers and started the oven, continued sharply, "Hey! You DID it again! There! Just now, even as I am TALKING to you. . ."
". . . what? What! What'd I do?"
"You punched in six and six. Two sixes. That's sixty-six. I asked for SIXTY. Didn't I? Just plain sixty!"
"Well, it's only six - "
"DON'T you say what you're THINKING to say, Boy! Don't you DARE minimize my seconds. For they're MINE to use or NOT use! You hearing me?"
"I was just going to suggest the difference between what's salient and what's mere yakity-yak. Nothing about it was belittlement. . ."
This time the whine of the microwave oven interrupted!
