A Fable about Hotel Ditties
Their antennae are some of Nature's most sensitive receptors and can glean relevant data from various wavelengths - sound being one. They first encountered the Hotel California song while resting in warm recesses behind an old-fashioned stereo system. As a crew, although not understanding the language, they enjoyed the smooth sentimental crooning.
Then as Life does it, one morning following a night of busy foraging they happened to hear the Roach Hotel advertising jingle, and to them, maybe tired or whatever, it seemed that the lyrics continued a theme of "moving in, moving out" where ever one might be.
Which sort of didn't make sense. Any hotel is a free and cozy resting spot after all! So why the indecision? Quite puzzling it was.
Still, they admitted to themselves that, even being weak on pertinence and less melodious, they did agree that the advert jingle was more lively and preferable for a live-in situation.
So they moved in, and to this very day, as a species they continue to enter the deadly no-exit contraptions.
Moral: Melody might mislead the dancer.
