A Fable about Boundaries.
There was an Ethereal Being that loved a particular pond in the midst of a remote and sylvan thicket.
In this peaceful grove, it felt free to relish in its own magnificence - as a creature that glowed prismatic auroras while it floated vertically above the pond's tranquil and reflective surface.
It made for truly enchanting spectacle.
Which is just what Happenstance used to trigger a 'situation': as this nondescript fellow loses his way and comes upon the exceptional alien - plus, to his eyes, it is in female form!
So, absolutely weak to ecstatic impulse, he reaches out to caress, to connect with the eerie phenomenon - and he even might have done so.
Except that already he had broken through otherworldly barriers.
Thus he was discovered shortly afterwards, cold and stiff as a bone, his face a death mask in the rictus of a beatific smile.
Moral: So much of affection is elegy.
