A Fable about the Internet
From records of our nascent blogosphere there comes the story of this 'thinker' who proposed a Universal Language based on the biological significance of the term, phrase, or word employed.
The initial suggestion was that 'Plant' would represent 'Life'.
Hoi polloi of every stripe and tribe were euphoric. To them it seemed that, at long last, Linguistic Synchronicity would now equal Empathy, which in turn, was the supreme measure of Emotional Inter-Connectivity.
Even the Society of Enigmatics applauded and for several postings Intellectual Sobriety went bonkers.
Then a remote Small Island blogger went and proposed 'Water' instead.
Well! We still have some seven thousand different tongues; don't we!
